What are cancer diseases?
Although they may affect different organs and systems, they are connected by an uncontrolled way of cell division and lack of differentiation into typical tissue cells.
Cancer can lead to a significant reduction in quality of life and even death. The most common cancers include lung, breast, colorectal and ovarian cancer.
Cancer Symptoms
The first symptoms of cancer are easy to miss, which is why regular preventive examinations are so important for health.
The initial signs of cancer are usually swollen lymph nodes, weakness, and weight loss.
As the disease progresses, more and more symptoms appear that are characteristic of the cancer. For example, pancreatic cancer is manifested by gastrointestinal disorders. In turn, lung cancer can cause shortness of breath, cough or hemoptysis.
Pancreatic cancer - treatment
The method of treating cancer depends on its nature. In the case of pancreatic cancer, the chance for recovery is early tumor resection in combination with radio- or chemotherapy. However, the prognosis is not good and the disease is often diagnosed too late to be able to undergo surgery. At that time, palliative treatment is implemented, which aims to relieve pain and improve the patient's quality of life.
Lung cancer - causes and diagnostics
Many cancers appear as a result of improper habits and an unhealthy lifestyle. These include lung cancer, which mainly affects smokers and non-smokers who are exposed to the carcinogenic effects of cigarette smoke. To recognize the disease, diagnostic tests such as computed tomography, lung x-ray or positron PET emission tomography are used.
